400 Communications Ltd

November 2007 | That's Plum

Plum formed from four individuals wishing to push the boundaries and form an innovative and creative Telecommunications consultancy. With strong personal reputations, a confident and strong brand was required to establish the business, and demonstrate why Plum could do what other consultancies couldn’t.

By combining research of their target market, current perceptions of the founders, and where the company was looking to be – we reflected the ambition and personality of Plum through a vibrant colour palette and a customised typographic logo. Our solution uses the way the letterforms interact to reflect the four founders and their individual expertise working together to form a greater whole. To complete their unique branding, a series of four straplines were developed to work in tandem with the logo to further explain their new consultancy and challenge inaccurate perceptions.

This bold simplicity was extended to the website which relies on strong organisation of information in order to retain a clean look and be an intuitive site to navigate. We rewrote the supplied copy to convey their core brand values and correct tone of voice, so that it tied in seamlessly with the minimal design. By providing a customised database back end – Plum can continue to keep their site up-to-date and relevant, with news articles and publications automatically updating the home page and an RSS feed to keep their clients in the know.
